I’m thirsting for excitement and diversity. The hustle and bustle of big city life. I miss always having things to do and places to go. This town changed my life and opened so many doors but it’s getting old.

I’m discontent lately. Painfully. I don’t know what to do. I feel like if I make the steps to move on I’ll be letting people down, but if I don’t I’ll be letting myself down.

Maybe I just need to reevaluate a few things. I love my career choice so that is the only thing I am truly sure of. I want to be an Esthetician and remain in they beauty industry, but I just don’t know if Stillwater is where I want to remain.

Small towns are for some people. I don’t think I am one of them. I feel like this town has run it’s course for me. The only thing I love about being here is my job.

Maybe this Summer will bring amazing things for me. Maybe I am just over thinking life. Maybe this town and this state has a lot more to offer me.

We shall see.

An Incredibly Late Review (rant?) Of An Amazingly Brilliant Album

I am going to be completely honest. It wasn’t until just recently that I had the time to properly listen to Kids In The Street. I mean, I learned the lyrics, and liked the songs, but I never actually really listened to the album in it’s entirety. I know, I’m a bad fan. Blah blah.

But recently I have become very nostalgic for the good ol’ days. I missed the feeling I got when rocking out to some Rejects. Life has just gotten in the way of being a “fan-girl” I guess.

Anyways, what I am getting at is I finally really listened to the record… and I was completely blown away. The album is the best Rejects album yet. You can tell how much they have grown musically and it is just fantastic.

The question here is… why isn’t everyone else raving over this amazingness? And an even bigger question is, how did Fall Out Boy come back from their “hiatus” and get constant radio play almost instantly while the Rejects, who have always believed in their band and never took a fucking hiatus so their lead singer can go play fuck buddies with pop music, did so lack luster in the charts. I can count one one hand the amount of times I heard any songs from KITS on the radio in the last year. Granted, I don’t really listen to the radio that often, but still. There was a time I couldn’t go 20 minutes without hearing Dirty Little Secret on the radio, or in a commercial, or in a movie. What happened to music in the time since Move Along was released and the time Kids in the Street was released?

Now I am not going to pretend that I didn’t like the new Fall Out Boy record. It was a departure from what I would consider “good FOB” (Take This To Your Grave, From Under The Cork Tree or even parts of Infinity On High), and there are a few songs I definitely hate, but a majority of the album was not painful to listen to. I just don’t understand how a band can give up and basically move on to pop music, and TV hosting gigs, and then suddenly decide they wanted to try again, and do so well? And who the FUCK did Pete Wentz have to blow to get Elton John on that shit? I mean really now. Courtney Love is also on the record, but that’s an easy accomplishment. All you need is line of coke, and probably a bottle of Vodka and she is all in. But Elton? I don’t get it.

I’m ranting. My apologies.

Back to the point, why are they doing so well after basically giving up, while the Rejects have worked their asses off to create brilliance, only to be treated like shit and not given the appreciation that they deserve? The two bands have been around for the same amount of time. They have die hard fans who stand for 10+ hours in the pouring rain, debilitating cold, and blistering heat to show their appreciation and love for their favorite band. (I know, I have been one of those ride or die fans for nearly 8 years now, and I have the scars to prove it!) Why are things so different between their success? Especially when the most outwardly “successful” of the two bands, makes more shitty music than good.

The Rejects don’t decide to make records because the bank account is suddenly getting a little low. They put their blood, sweat and tears into their work. They don’t wait years between each album because they are coasting along. They tour their asses off in that amount of time, and then when the time is right they go on writing trips, and hold up in recording studios for months and months making everything perfect.

Maybe to be successful in this fucking industry you just have to not give a shit? Maybe you need to release back to back albums in the blink of an eye filled with poorly written lyrics that lack true substance?

I don’t know. I am just a pissed off reborn fan-girl who finds this injustice incredibly heartbreaking. I implore you guys to give Kids in the Street another listen. Put your headphones in and actually listen to that shit. Let the fact that it doesn’t sound like Move Along go and appreciate the hard work that went into creating it. It is amazing, and deserves to be played on repeat and sang at the top of your lungs from every goddamn rooftop in town.

If she came at me, even wandless, I would aparate to Neptune to get away from her.

Hermione Granger also:

punched Draco Malfoy in the nose for being an idiot

purposefully performed a confundus charm on whatshsface WHILE HE WAS FLYING just so Ron would win (omfg that is so fucking dangerous)

literally pulled a fucking Bourne Identity on her parents and managed to set them up in fucking Australia (jesus christ she literally made it so that she NEVER EXISTED wtf that’s so fucking 007)

Convinced the Ministry of Magic to give her an incredibly dangerous and volatile device that allowed her to ALTER TIMELINES COMPLETELY (just because she was so smart, literally, that is the reason, her “potential”)

Has enough basic survival skills and badass magic to literally disappear to the middle of nowhere and flourish AND figure out Voldemort’s plot with Harry

Hermione also figures out not only what Voldemort’s plan is, but generally how to beat it, WAY BEFORE VOLDEMORT EVER DOES. Why? because she is just that much smarter and better at magic than everybody else

in conclusion: Voldemort wishes he could be as awesome as Hermione, that’s why he wants to kill her so bad.

Can we rehave this series with hermione as the protagonist.
