Our new fixer-upper.
There is a lot of work we still have to do on it, but I am so excited! I can’t wait to get everything perfect! Ahhh! So stoked!
This is the view of my bedroom from the door. The master bathroom has a big bathtub in it so there wasn’t any room in there for the sink so it is in the room. It is going to take a bit to get used to. I think if I decorate around it, it won’t look so weird. lol
The view of my room from over by the sink. That is my very own walk in closet. I am so excited! I finally have a place to hang my clothes!
My beautiful bathtub! I am SO stoked to take a bath in there. The house we are living in now only has a stand up shower. Oh how I have missed a bathtub!
Our kitchen. That thing in the middle that looks like a cutting board is actually a dishwasher. It is on wheels and you hook it to the sink when you want to use it. We are getting rid of it because it is pointless.
The people who lived there before us were college boys so they have a chalkboard painted on part of the wall there, and in the living room. Apparently they had a lot of lady friends. haha
The living room. When Dad found out that we got the place, he moved a recliner in for our “first piece of furniture”. lol
View of the kitchen from the living room. That post in the kitchen’s entryway annoys the hell out of me. I think we are going to try and build a wall/bookshelf thing on the right side.
There is also another bathroom and another bedroom, but the pictures I got of those don’t really show much. They will be Dad’s room and bathroom though. And there is a fenced in backyard!
So yeah, we have a ton of work to do on the place. There are a few soft spots in the floor, and a few leak issues, but easy fixes. The best part about this though? We got the house for free! It is on the property where my Dad works and they haven’t wanted to put in the money or time to get it fixed so Dad offered to take it on. All we have to pay is the lot rent, which is only $270 a month, which is less than what we pay for our one bedroom we live in now.
Gah! I am so so SO excited! I can’t wait to get everything done, and move in!!! Picture updates to come over the next few months showing our progress!
